Since the 1960s Asian cooking has played a very large role in
American cuisines. Similarly, some dishes that are typically considered
American have their different origins in other countries. American cooks and
chefs have substantially altered these dishes over the years, to the degree
that the dishes now enjoyed around the world are considered to be American. Hot
dogs and hamburgers are both based on traditional German dishes, but in their
modern common form they can be reasonably considered American dishes. One characteristic of American cooking is the two of multiple
ethnic or regional approaches into completely different styles.

Japanese food
The
traditional food of Japan is based on rice with miso soup and other dishes,
with special seasonal ingredients.
The side dishes often consist of fish, pickled vegetables, and vegetables cooked in broth. Fish is the most popular traditional cuisine.
It is often grilled, but it may also be served raw as sashimi or in sushi. Seafood and vegetables are also deep fried in a bright batter as tempura.
